We declare goods on behalf of our clients, ensuring full compliance with customs requirements and accurate submission of all necessary information.
GVMS Imports
We administer the Goods Movement Reference (GMR) for import shipments, ensuring all entries are correctly prepared and submitted.
The Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) is required for certain UK border locations and ensures goods can move quickly through ports using pre-lodged customs declarations. Our GVMS Import service manages every stage of the process — from creating your GMR to verifying declarations and ensuring your vehicle is cleared for boarding. We handle all compliance checks, documentation, and customs requirements so your drivers avoid delays, refusals, or costly border issues. Whether you're moving full loads, groupage shipments, or time-sensitive cargo, we ensure your GVMS movements run smoothly and meet all HMRC rules.
How It Works
Step 1: Declaration & Document Review
We verify your import declaration (ENS/SSD if applicable), haulier details, and all supporting documents to ensure they meet GVMS requirements.
Step 2: GMR Creation
We generate your Goods Movement Reference (GMR) and link the correct import declaration(s) so the vehicle is approved for boarding.
Step 3: Driver Instructions Issued
We provide clear instructions for your driver, including GMR details, port procedures, and any additional paperwork required for arrival.
Step 4: Border Monitoring & Arrival Confirmation
We monitor your GMR status, track customs messages, and ensure your goods clear seamlessly upon arrival.
Not for every port — but many key UK locations require a GMR for all inbound goods. We confirm requirements for each movement.
Yes. You provide the MRN, and we handle the full GVMS process from there.
The vehicle may be refused boarding. We prevent this by checking all linked documents and monitoring the GMR status.
Absolutely. We communicate directly with drivers or transport coordinators to ensure a smooth and compliant crossing.
